Player & Parent/Carer Agreement 2025/26

This agreement outlines the expectations for players, parents/carers, and staff for the 2025/26 season at Leeds Riverside EFC.

1. Respect and Positive Behaviour

Leeds Riverside EFC is committed to creating an environment that supports the growth and development of young players. We believe that players progress best when they feel encouraged, respected, and free to learn from their mistakes without unnecessary pressure.

We expect all players, parents, and spectators to maintain high standards of behaviour at training and on match days. This includes:

  • Promoting encouragement, effort, and respect for all participants

  • Refraining from negative comments about players, coaches, referees, or the opposition

  • Supporting a positive match day and training atmosphere at all times

We operate a zero-tolerance policy for verbal, physical, or psychological abuse. Any behaviour that does not align with these values may result in individuals being asked to leave the session or venue, with further action taken via the club’s safeguarding or complaints procedure.

For full guidance, please refer to the FA Respect guidelines for parents/carers, players, and coaches.

2. Training and Match Day Commitments

Training

Players are expected to attend all scheduled training sessions. If a player is unavailable, their parent/carer must inform the club via Spond as soon as possible. Regular absences may affect match selection. Continued non-attendance without valid reason may result in the player being released to allow space for another participant.

Players must approach training with professionalism, effort, and focus. Disruptive behaviour may result in being asked to leave the session and could affect future selection.

Time Management

Training sessions will start and end as scheduled. We ask all families to plan accordingly to support punctuality.

Team Selection

Each week, the manager will select a match day squad based on performance, attitude, training attendance, and fitness. All decisions are made in the best interest of team development and competition.

Player Rotation

While aiming to be competitive, we also believe in equal development opportunities. Coaches will aim to ensure JPL players receive fair and meaningful game time across the season. Records will be kept to support a balanced approach.

Players who miss training due to illness or other commitments may be rested the following match at the manager’s discretion. If a player chooses to attend an external event over a fixture, this may not be counted as their rotation week.

Positions and Playing Time

Managers may ask players to play in different positions to support development and team needs. These decisions are not open to challenge on match day. Development feedback may also be given during matches where appropriate.

3. Membership and Monthly Fees

Leeds Riverside EFC offers two membership options:

  • JPL Player – £60/month: Includes training, league/cup games, friendlies, and tournaments

  • Squad Player – £40/month: Training-focused role with possible match invitations

Fees are paid monthly from September to August. Membership type may be adjusted mid-season based on development, with new payment plans issued accordingly.

If a player leaves the club, fees will stop from the next payment date.

4. Communication

We use Spond and WhatsApp to manage communication, availability, and planning.

  • Training absences must be reported via Spond as early as possible

  • Match availability changes must be communicated directly to the manager. Do not rely solely on app updates being noticed at short notice

5. Fundraising

As a not-for-profit organisation, all income is reinvested into providing a high-quality football experience. Parents and carers are encouraged to support our fundraising initiatives whenever possible.

6. Media, Photos and Social Platforms

Parents/carers can indicate consent for the use of player images or video during registration. These may be used to promote the club on social media and other channels.

The club expects that concerns, complaints, or grievances are handled through official procedures, not social media. Inappropriate use of online platforms to discuss club matters is not permitted and may result in further action.
